Understanding Our Logo
When designing our logo we wanted it to honor our Haitian-American heritage and the influence they had on us. We were born in the US but we lived in Haiti in our earlier years.
In relation to that, we have also inserted a representation of the freedom trail marker. It is a powerful representation of Boston, the city that led the United States revolution which eventually changed its people's lives.
We have included a meaningful symbol of Haiti in our logo, the iconic statue of “Neg Mawon”(Black Maroon) which represents a slave that ran away to be free.
In this increasingly fast-paced, busy world, we feel it is even more important to reclaim our freedom and ensure that we are leading a purposeful life.
With that said, at Maréfleur by Essence & Sérénité, Freedom to Be is one of our core values. It tells us the freedom to
choose whom we want to be and the path we want to pursue.
Lastly, we showered our logo with beautiful hibiscus flowers as it is a national floral emblem of our motherland.

We also added the scales of justice in our logo, which represents balance in life. As the pandemic made us revisit our priorities, creating a serene space in our home became as equally important as serving others. The balance is a reminder to seek equilibrium in all we do. Epicurius, an ancient Greek philosopher, says it best: “Be moderate in order to taste the joys of life in abundance.”
